Who I Am Matters(does it?)

Old Delhi from an aerial perspective.

I call the smog-laden streets of New Delhi as my hometown. Delhi is the capital of India and is one of the most polluted cities in the world, but if you can look(or breathe) past that, then the streets of Delhi have their own charm. The city is home to over 25 million people and is less than half the size of Los Angeles. It is known as the food capital of India and has the most diverse food culture that you could find. 'Delhi Belly' is a common phrase. I love my city and I can't get enough of it. It's rich in culture and history and every nook and corner has an old monument or structure which is a few hundred years old.

My sportswear company's logo.

I'm going straight back to where I came from. Los Angeles is only a temporary stop for me to grow and mould myself into a person. Currently being a senior, I'm flying back the day after I graduate in order to pursue my goal of running a sportswear company. One thing is for sure, I'm going to live and die breathing the mildly toxic air of New Delhi. How I get back is still an open question though, I could take a flight through about 20 different airlines. I could drive from LA to New York and then take a flight. I could take a ship and reach in a couple of months. Or I could do the longest road trip in the world from Los Angeles to New Delhi. I think I'll find the answer to that question later on in the semester.
Mi familia
My parents have been my biggest inspiration. I'm like my father in the sense that if something captures my attention, I will go to any length to achieve that. My mother is the most approachable and friendly person I've ever come across and complete strangers have discussed their life problems with her without hesitance. I think I've imbibed some of that in my personality.
I'm easily frustrated, unlike my father. I'm easily trusting, unlike my mother.
In terms of expectations, I feel the reality is a hybrid of both. I have extremely high expectations of myself, but I feel that the reason for that is partly due to my parents as I would want them to be happy and proud of me as a person.

Visionary

My role model has been Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba in China, for quite some time now. I don't think a lot of people realize the responsibility they have to the world, but Jack Ma's commitment to being wise with his spending is phenomenal.

I feel like eagles are animals that I am often awestruck by and connect with. I think the term 'silent, but deadly' resonates with me.
easy to climb, hard to get down

I think my funniest and most memorable encounter with the plant kingdom happened when I was 11. I climbed extremely high on a Banyan tree and could not climb back down. I was stuck for 2 hours...

  1. I live 30 minutes away from USC. I can't imagine going to school so far away from my home! I really love your passion for your hometown.

  3. I would like to start off by saying I enjoyed reading your blog and the pictures that went along with it. It is so cool that you are interested in a sportswear company and I would love to hear more about your strategy and how studying business in the US has helped you to build a business in India. I also like your tree story, a friend of mine used to always tell me, "if you can get up, than you can get down" but I think we both know that is much easier said than done.
